It is here! The Larimer Choral Society’s much anticipated golden anniversary is here! Our 50th season will begin with a wonderful, free sampler concert featuring tidbits and tastes of the incredible music that will comprise the season ahead. We begin the season, officially, with Carl Orff’s bombastic and timeless tale of fortune, love and life, Carmina Burana, featuring the Centennial Children’s Chorus and professional orchestra and soloists. In December we will again offer three performances of our Candlelight Christmas concerts featuring carols old and new, guest musicians, spoken word and the Dickens Carolers of the Larimer Chorale. What a great holiday tradition! The repertoire of our third concert was decided, in part, by the members of the Chorale, themselves. Gilded Classics and Chorale Favorites will feature various choruses voted upon by our membership. Subsequently, the concert will feature choruses from Handel, Bach, Mozart, Haydn, Beethoven, Barber, Bernstein and Copland along with professional orchestra and some guest conductors. What fun! The season finale is our official 50th Anniversary Concert and for the first time ever, the Larimer Chorale, Centennial Children’s Chorus and the Silvertones Senior Choir will perform on stage together. The concert will feature the world premiere of a piece we’ve commissioned by Colorado composer, Misty Dupuis. Together, we’ll all celebrate The Larimer Chorale and her legacy as one of the truly outstanding community choruses in the country! We are so grateful for the support of our friends and patrons.
