About the Larimer Chorale

Who We Are

For 50 years, the Larimer Chorale has brought people together through the transformative power of choral music. Founded in 1977, we are an auditioned community choir of approximately 125 adult singers from across Northern Colorado. Our members are teachers, scientists, healthcare workers, business owners, students, parents, retirees, and professionals of all kinds. What brings us together is simple: we love to sing, and we believe music is better when we experience it together.

The Larimer Chorale performs a diverse repertoire, with a special focus on the great choral masterworks. Our concerts often feature professional orchestras and soloists, creating powerful, high-quality performances that are accessible to audiences throughout our community. We also love to explore music beyond the traditional canon, from Broadway and popular favorites to contemporary works and music by composers of the 19th, 20th, and 21st centuries.

But the Chorale is about more than concerts. We are an active part of the cultural life of Northern Colorado, performing at community events, collaborating with other arts organizations, and creating opportunities for people of all ages to experience the joy of choral music. Over the years, we have partnered with organizations including the Fort Collins Symphony, Canyon Concert Ballet, IMPACT Dance Company, Kutandara, Centennial Children's Chorus, Colorado State University ensembles, area schools, and many other musicians and arts groups.

We are proud to support the vibrant arts community around us by working with professional musicians, soloists, conductors, composers, and arts organizations. We have commissioned and premiered new works, including Climb by acclaimed composer Jake Runestad as part of our 40th anniversary celebration, and we continue to seek out opportunities to bring new music and fresh perspectives to our audiences.

Our singers contribute thousands of hours each year—not only rehearsing and performing, but also volunteering their time to help make the Chorale thrive. We are singers, volunteers, audience members, friends, and neighbors, all working together to create something bigger than any one person could create alone.

For five decades, the Larimer Chorale has been singing together, growing together, and sharing the power of music with our community. We can't wait to sing with you.
