Larimer Chorale

The Larimer Chorale is one of the largest and most accomplished avocational choral ensembles in the Colorado Rocky Mountain Region. We are an auditioned, adult choir that was created by our community, for our community. Through our concerts, events, and outreach activities, we actively demonstrate that singing is a life-long endeavor that brings fulfillment and enrichment to singers and audiences alike. We sing for the joy it brings to us and our audiences and out of a deep dedication to music and our community.

SilverTones - Home Again

In 2011, Mike Krueger and Wendy White thought of the idea of a non-auditioned, daytime choir for older adults that would operate under the auspices of the Larimer Chorale. By May 2012, they had secured a rehearsal venue, a few (about 60) willing participants, and enough funding for a six-month pilot project. They had no idea that, in just a few years, the Silvertones Choir would grow to 150 or more talented singers!

When Ms. White announced her retirement in December 2017, the Silvertones decided to raise money to build the Silvertones music library. They raised enough funds to buy music for an entire program, for which Ms. White chose the theme Home Again. Ms. White says, "Home is where I feel comfortable and at ease. Home is where I am surrounded by friends and family. Throughout a lifetime of travel, I have always had a keen sense of being home or going home and a deep sense of relief when, after a long flight, I open my front door and say, "Ah, home again!"

The music purchased in Ms. White's honor includes Over the Rainbow, This Land is Your Land, To My Old Brown Earth, and a John Denver Medley that includes Rocky Mountain High and Take Me Home, Country Roads. Dr. Krueger arranged several additional pieces.

We're delighted to feature the Mariposa Flute Choir, led by Larimer Chorale soprano Kit Hawkins.
