The Chorale kicks off its 50th season with one of the 20th century’s most celebrated choral/orchestral masterpieces – Carmina Burana by Carl Orff. Rhythmic, pulsating, gentle and humorous ... Carmina Burana is like the roulette wheel of life ... roll the dice, spin the wheel and see what kind of music comes up. Based on a medieval collection of secular poetry, the texts range from ancient Latin to Middle High German along with old Provençal French. The subject matter includes drinking, gambling, love and life and everything in between. We’re thrilled to be joined by the Centennial Children’s Chorus along with professional soloists and orchestra. This special season opener is not to be missed!
