Watch this fabulous clip from CBS Sunday Morning about the impact that singing in a chorus has on singers and the communities in which they live.
This study from Chorus America found that choral singing continues to be the most popular form of participation in the performing arts. They also found that adults who sing in choruses are remarkably good citizens: they are avid patrons of the arts; they volunteer at a significantly higher rate than the general public; they make substantial financial contributions to their choruses; and they exhibit great civic leadership.
And guess what? This study also shows that children who sing in choruses have academic success and gain valuable life skills.
